अक्रूर = वसुदेव का भाई, श्रीकृष्ण के चाचा । कंस की सलाह से श्रीकृष्ण और बलराम को धनुष यज्ञ के लिए आमंत्रण देकर उनको गोकुल से मथुरा ले गए थे । उनको डर था के क्रूर कंस, उनका वध करेगा । परंतु श्रीकृष्णने यमुनाजल तथा रथ दोनो स्थल पे अपना स्वरूप दिखाकर अपनी शक्ति का थोडा सा परिचय करवाया था, जिससे उनको विश्वास हुआ की कंस उनका वध नहीं कर सकेगा, परंतु वे कंसका वध करेंगे ।

Akrur = Brother of Vasudev, Paternal uncle of Shri Krishna. On the advice of Kans, Shri Krishna & Balaram were invited by him for Dhanush Yagya and he took them from Gokul to Mathura. He was afraid because he thought cruel Kans will kill them. Because Shri Krishna had showed his swaroop (form) on the banks of Yamuna river and on the chariot, and had given him (Akrur) a little introduction of His power, this made him believe that Kans will not kill them, but Shri Krishna will kill Kans.
