11/06/2016 – 10 Verses from Tartam Sagar Granth

Shri Raas Granth : Prakaran 7 : Verse 2 – 11

Sobha sagar sath tani, sakhi keni pere ae varanavay |
Hu re abujh kain ghanu lahu, aenu nirmaan kem kari thaay ||2||

The glorious adornment of all the gopis in Yogmaya is similar to an ocean. How can it be described? I am ignorant and when I cannot take this in my heart, then how can it be represented?

Praghal poor saayar ulatyo, ek ras thai sarve naar ||3||

On seeing the divine adornment of the sakhis it seems as if crores of suns have risen and their light is spreading out of the universe of Yogmaya. It appears as if a brilliant ocean is emerging and in that divine light all sakhis have blended together.

Ek nakhtani jo jot tame juo, tema kai na sooran dhapay |
Kem kari sobha varanavu re sakhiyo, maro sabad na pohonche tyay ||4||

Observe the brilliance of one of their nail. In front of that glow infinite suns also appear pale. How can I describe this grace? Because in that ineffable land none of my words reach. (it is beyond words)

Vali gun jo jo tame nakhtana, hu tehno te kahu vichar |
Sooraj drashte taap j thaay, ane ang upje karaar ||5||

Now observe the light of beautiful nails of Shri Shyamaji. I am describing the speciality of the nails. The light of sun provdies heat, but the light of Shri Shyamaji’s nails provide tranquility.

Sathtani re saadiyu jyare joiye, tema rang dise apaar |
Anek vidhna javer j dise, kare te ati jhalkaar ||6||

When we look at the sarees of all the sakhis then various colours can be seen. Only different kinds of jewels are visible in their sarees which are dazzling.

Teva saroop ne teva bhushan, tej tana ambaar |
Ae ajwalu jyare jiv jue, tyare su kare sansaar ||7||

As the divine adornment, the ornaments are also divine. Everywhere there is repository of light. When the soul sees this kind of divine light, then how can the trivial attraction of the world enchant him/her?

Maahe maahe Valajini vato, bijo chitma nathi uchaar |
Tatkhin ven sambhalta Vallabh, khin nav laagi vaar ||8||

The sakhis are collectively talking only about their beloved Dhani. There are no other thoughts in their mind. On listening to the sound of the flute of their beloved Shyam Sundar they did not delay even for a moment to sacrifice the world.

Mann umang Valajisu ramva, aayat ati ghani thaay |
Aanand maahe ati ujaay, dharni na laage paay ||9||

When the sakhis were going from Braj to Raas they had a burning desire to play Raas with their beloved husband. The eagerness to experience joy made them run fast. It seems as if their feet were not touching the ground.

Bhushan svar sohamna, mukh vani te bole rasaal |
Ae svarne jyare shravna dije, tyare aado na aave pampaal ||10||

The sound which is emerging from the adorned ornaments of sakhis is very melodious. Even their speech is sweet. If we listen to both these sounds then this world cannot create hurdles i.e. we cannot be trapped in this illusionary world.

Sath sakal mara vala paase aavyo, mann aani ulaas |
Vividh pere Valajisu ramva, chitma nathi mayano paas ||11||

In this way the sakhis well groomed, completely adorned go and meet Shri Krishna. They were eager that they will play in various ways with their beloved husband. There was no trace of illusion in their minds.
