22/05/2016 – 10 Verses from Tartam Sagar Granth

Shri Raas Granth : Prakaran 1 : Verse 51 – 60

Aa jogvay che jagya tani, ane vichaar mahe samjan |

This human life is for the purpose of Self realisation. To understand this & to ponder on this fact is wisdom. Those who have understood this fact be spiritually awakened. This opportunity (human life) is only for half a second.

Aage Dhani padharya amma, ame kari na sakya olkhaan |
Ae nikharpane nidh nigmi, thai ati Dhani haan ||52||

When for the first time Dhani (Sadguru) had come we could not recognise him. Because of this fatuousness we lost the treasure in the form of Sadguru and hence a lot of loss has occurred.

Aavya Dhani na olakhya, ame bhoolya aeni bhaant |
Vina vichare na samjya, nigmi nidh saakhyaat ||53||

Dhani had come in the form of Sadguru and we did not recognise him. Thus we have made a big mistake. Without thinking upon his words we could not identify him and so we lost the treasure (Sadguru).

Joyi vichariye ek vachan, to alga thaiye paasethi kem |
Dije pradkhina raat ne din, kije phero sufal dhan dhan ||54||

If we would have thought and acted on a single word of Sadguru then why would we be separated? Day and night we could have circumambulated Him and would have made this human birth successful.

Dive talyo jyare sun sohaag, tyare patang pamyo veraag |
Kan jhampavi olve aag, kan kayano kare tyaag ||55||

When the light of the lamp drives out the dark shelters of the moth, then the moth renounces everything. Either it blows off the burning lamp or it jumps in the burning lamp and sacrifices its life.

Juo jivtani ae reet, nav muke andherni preet |
Dhani amaro Aksharateet, ame tohe na samajhya pateet ||56||

O Brahmasrishti! Look at the sacrifice of this small creature. It cannot cease to love the darkness. Although our Spiritual Husband is Aksharateet (He is infinite, eternal & the Supreme Almighty), we are so degraded that we could not identify him.

Have ghar mahe unchu kem josu, hasi kahi vaat na kari varsu |
Ae Dhani vina kene anusarsu, have ame roi roine marsu ||57||

After reaching Paramdhaam how will we hold our head up with pride and look into the eyes of Dhani? In this world we did not even laugh and talk to our beloved Dhani. Whom will we follow other than our Dhani? Now we will have to cry till death that is we will have to spend our whole life repenting.

Ae amari vitakni vidh, mune mardi kidh besudh |
Amne chetarya aeni budhh, to gai akhand amari nidh ||58||

This is my life’s story, this illusion has made me unconscious and the illusionary mind has cheated me in such a way that treasure in the form of Sadguru slipped out of my hands.

Jo panival alga jaye, to khinmatra varsa so thay |
Dhani vina kem rehvay, jo kaink nidh olkhay ||59||

Like a drop of water (in the play of Braj & Raas) when we used to get separated from our Dhani even for a second, then that second use to be like ages. Here (in this world) also if we had known Dhani then how would we live without him in his absence?

Min jal vina jeni adaay, antar vrah na khamay |
To vrah aapan kem kehvay, jo ek lavo samjhay ||60||

As a fish cannot live without water and cannot bear its separation, similarly if we have experienced a bit (the gist) of the teachings of Sadguru then how can we bear the (pain) anguish of his separation?
