23/05/2016 – 10 Verses from Tartam Sagar Granth

Shri Raas Granth : Prakaran 1 : Verse 61 – 70

Ame vrah Dhanino khamya, je din vratha nigamya|
Ame bharam mahe bhamya, jo agni vrah na damya ||61||

We have suffered the pain of separation from Dhani. We wasted our days in vain due to non identification of Dhani. In the illusion of attachment we kept wandering, but the anguish of separation could not be calmed.

Aene mohe mahu karya, kari na sakya vichaar |
Sunai aavi sahune, to aado aavyo sansaar ||62||

This illusion has put me in confusion and has hypnotised me, and hence I could not think anything. Due to ignorance in all the senses the state of passiveness has dominated me. This world has become a hurdle between me and my spiritual husband (Dhani).

Jo vidh lahu vachanni, to sansaar amne su |
Aene kain chale nahi, jo olkhu aapopu ||63||

If we will adhere to the teachings of Sadguru then how will this world tie us? On realising the Self – Atma, this illusion will not be able to influence us.

Aagal aem kahyu che, je aandhlo chale sahi |
Jyar bhatke bheet nilaatma, tiha lage dekhe nahi ||64||

In earlier times the thoughtful people have said that blind people walk with their assumption powers. They don’t realise until and unless their heads collide with a wall.

Ghan lagyo kapalma, ame tohe andhna andh ||65||

We have experienced this; however we could not understand the relation of this illusion. We have remained blind inspite of getting hit by a hammer on our forehead.

Aankh tohe na ughdi, vale kahi anek vidh |
Andh ame eva thaya, nigmi betha nidh ||66||

Even on the happening of all this, our eyes didn’t open (could not become aware of it). Sadguru gave us many examples to explain but we had become so blind that we lost the indestructible treasure in the form of Sadguru.

Andhne aankh roode tani, pan amne mahe na bahar |
To nidh khoi haththi, jo kidho nahi vichaar ||67||

The eyes of blind people are placed in their hearts, but we have eyes neither in our hearts nor outside. And hence we lost the eternal treasure in the form of our Sadguru from our hands, because we did not pay slightest heed to his words.

Andhne aankh roode tani hoy, pan amne nav dise koy |
Ame to rahya nidh khoy, tane bhoolya su thay roy ||68||

The eyes of blind people are in their hearts hence they can think from within, we have eyes neither inside nor outside and for this reason we could not see anything. So we lost the treasure in the form of Sadguru, and now after losing the opportunity what difference will it make by crying and repenting?

Gaye avsar su thaay pache, dhan gaye hath sahu ghase |
Mahe haan bahar sahu hasee, te to maheni mahe radse ||69||

After losing an opportunity what happens! After losing the wealth everyone keeps rubbing their hands. They themselves bear the loss and also bear the sarcasm of others. And so they cry deep within their hearts.

Sath ae per amsu thai, nidh hath aavi kari gai |
Din ghana am mahe rahe, pan ame duste jaani nahi ||70||

O Sundersath ! This has happened with us too. Inspite of getting the treasure (Sadguru) in our hands we lost it. Dhani remained with us for so many days, but because of our evilness we could not identify him.
